As 21st Century Farmers we have encountered something that our forefathers
would never have imagined........................some people have never SEEN a farm! Many children do not know that hamburger
comes from COWS! And that chickens come from EGGS! So, with all of the resourcefulness of a 21st century farmer,
we began to offer tours. (Anything to help pay the taxes- right!) As folks found us they were curious about
how things ran around here. We used to give a short tour but found that after questions, petting all our critters and a short
chat with our colorful Macaws, that we lost a lot of time and nothing else got done that day. Trust me, we
ALWAYS have something that needs to be done. So, we decided to schedule and charge for our time. We will do a casual walking
tour of the farm and see the gardens, rabbits, pigs, cows, sheep, turkeys & chickens. Kids get to pet the bunnies &
pigs and pick an egg or two from the laying coop. They also get a feather from the Macaws when available.
Barn tours are $20 per FAMILY up to 4 people (i.e.
2 adults/2 children); an additional $5 per person after that.
Visa - Master Card
- Discover - Paypal & American Express accepted.
PLEASE remember, we are a working farm. We are always happy to meet new customers, but we cannot always stop working
to show you around. You are welcome to MAKE AN APPOINTMENT and reserve your spot on Saturdays at 3 p.m. for a tour.
Likewise, proper attire includes sturdy shoes, sneakers,
long pants (at least socks), hats, sunglasses, & sunscreen. We are a farm, not Disneyland. We DO HAVE ants, bees, flies,

Over the years we have had
people interested in going back "to the basics" and have come to us for advise and information. We found ourselves
sharing information and giving out handouts in our eagerness to help. However, again, we realized this cost us time &
money.
I was a newsletter writer, editor and publisher for both the Southern Commercial Rabbit Producers Association and The Rabbit Exchange. Mike was the Southwest Regional Director for S.C.R.P.A. for 5 years
and the Executive Director
of The Rabbit Exchange.
For over 6 years we made notes
and have now published a
guide that can walk you through the entire commercial rabbit operation designed especially for the southern climate.
The book includes
layout plans, drawings and measurements needed to build proper barns, cages, nest boxes, worm boxes, etc.
The information
will also walk you through
the entire cycle of tasks for the rabbit – breeding, palpating, nest box timing, weaning, selecting breeding stock, how to get through the southern summers and winter seasons as well as forms, formulas and the entire bookkeeping process, both the “paper system” and the S.A.F.A.R.I.
software. It is the most
comprehensive book ever written
for commercial meat rabbit operations in the southern region.
